The Conscious Commune is a pilot scheme of community-based circular design in Edinburgh. Its civic programme is a response to the #SaveLeithWalk campaign, which has called for the provision of sustainable, community-centric spaces; in addition, its workshop programmes seek to tap and feed into the wider repair network in Leith. Both its architectural design and programme are informed by the principles of the circular economy, wherein the value of materials and components are created and maintained.
